At Timbercraft, we believe a home should be more than a beautiful structure. It should be a place where families gather, traditions begin, and memories are made for generations.
Since 1979, Timbercraft has carried forward the tradition of authentic timber framing, combining time-honored craftsmanship with modern design, engineering, and precision manufacturing.
Today, from our home in Tecumseh, Michigan, we work with homeowners, builders, and architects across the United States to create custom timber frames that are truly Built for Life.
OUR STORY
Timbercraft began in the Pacific Northwest in 1979 and established its Michigan operations in the early 2000s. Through the years, ownership and locations have changed, but the foundation of the company has remained remarkably consistent: build exceptional timber frames and build lasting relationships with the people who trust us to create them.
When James and Rachel Miller became owners of Timbercraft in 2021, their goal wasn't to reinvent the company. It was to preserve what made Timbercraft special while building upon it for the future.
That meant protecting the legacy of traditional housed mortise-and-tenon joinery, maintaining the personal relationships that have always defined the company, and creating a family environment for both our clients and our team.
At the same time, we began focusing heavily on improving production flow, quality control, technology, and every step of the client experience.
The objective is simple:
Build the best timber frame we possibly can—and make the experience of creating it just as exceptional.

Pre-Fit Assembly
Before your frame leaves our facility, its components are pre-fit to verify joinery, quality, and accuracy. It's an additional step, but one we believe is critical to delivering a smoother and more efficient timber raising.
Experienced Installation
Our experienced preffered installation teams bring the frame together on site, transforming months of planning, designing, engineering, and craftsmanship into the structure that will define your home.

When Rachel and I purchased Timbercraft, we weren't simply buying a business. We were accepting the responsibility of carrying forward a legacy that began in 1979.
We knew it would be challenging, but we believed in the product, the craftsmanship, and the people behind it.
Every project represents someone's dream, and we never want to lose sight of that responsibility.
My hope is that every Timbercraft home becomes a place where children grow up, grandchildren return, and memories are made for generations.
That's what Built for Life means to me.

Aaron helps guide Timbercraft families through the early stages of their projects, from initial conversations and ideas through design and planning.
His role isn't simply to sell a timber frame. It's to understand what each family is trying to create and help them determine the right path forward for their project.

Our goal for Timbercraft is ambitious, but uncomplicated:
Build the best timber frame product in the industry while creating the best client relationships in the industry.
We'll continue investing in our people, technology, manufacturing processes, quality control, and craftsmanship.
