Pendants for a Timbercraft Frame

Timbercraft’s Pendant Options

Pendants are the decorative drops or finial-style elements often added to the bottom of key timber frame members—typically at the ends of king posts, hammer beams, or other prominent joints. While primarily ornamental, they help visually “finish” a frame by adding balance, character, and a certain uniqueness to exposed structural woodwork.

Timbercraft offers several pendant styles to suit different architectural tastes:

Chamfer Pendant

A clean, understated option featuring beveled edges that taper toward the tip. Chamfer pendants complement modern, craftsman, and transitional designs where subtle detailing is preferred.

Routered Pendant

This style includes shaped profiles created with a router—clean lines and edges for custom geometric ends. Routered pendants offer a more refined and decorative look while remaining versatile enough for both traditional and contemporary frames.

Acorn Pendant Example

Acorn Pendant

Inspired by classic timber-framing traditions, the acorn pendant features a rounded form with a tapered top and a fuller lower bulb. It adds a touch of old-world charm and works beautifully in rustic, historic, or lodge-style frames.

Onion Pendant

A bold, traditional shape with a fuller, more pronounced bulb than the acorn style. Onion pendants draw the eye and create a strong visual anchor at the bottom of a king post or beam end—ideal for dramatic great rooms and heritage-style frames.
